Delegation of the Day: Norway

We started the day as usual with flagtime and breakfast. The theme of today’s activities was Crazy Olympics. Our Olympic games took place both in activity period 1 from 10-12 and in activity period 2 from 14-16 o’clock.

All the kids were devided into teams of 7-8 people on each team. The teams had to go through diferent exercise stations around the campsite and gather points in order to win the Olympic medals.

The tasks the participants had to do included:

-making human sculpture using the team-members as the only material;

-flip-flop kicking, trying to kick the flip-flops as fas as possible;

-an obstacle course;

-a potato race where they had to run with a potato on a spoon;

- a water spitting contest where they had to aim for the bucket;

-building a tower as high as possible using only cups

-”fishing” an apple out of a bucket filled with water without using hands, followed by “fishing” candy out of flour also without using hands;

-a watermeasuring activity where the teams had to find a way to measure 4l of water only using a container that takes 5l and a container that takes 3l of water.

Each team also had to come up with a name and a chant for their team.

The end of the 2011 Crazy Olympics was celebrated the same evening with a medal ceremony where medals were given to the teams that placed in top three.

The night ended with a danceparty where the dresscode was “crazy”.
