Delegation of the Day: Germany

We had our 2nd chance to be delegation of the day. It was a very nice day because we had our last excursion (Shopping day) and Formal Night in the evening. Everybody saved money for this special day downtown in Trondheim. So we left after breakfast by bus to hit the shopping malls with 50 kids all dressed in light blue Wonderland Village Camp shirts. The bus ride already was so much fun. All the kids were singing their favorite lullabies and turned these 30 minutes into a cool concert. While some of us wanted to check out the science museum gift shop to buy funny and unique gifts, others (especially the girls) were taken by the 50% sale all over the places.

In the evening we wanted to celebrate our formal night so having shopping day right before was the perfect moment to look for nice dresses or shirts if you haven´t brought something from your home. Even some leaders were lucky and could arrange their outfits’ last minute :) It was also the birthday of Larissa, one of the Austrian girls. After an amazing lunch with lots of different warm and cold food and of course wonderful desserts at Hotel Rica we gathered all together outside next to the beautiful riverside and sang “Happy birthday” for Larissa in all 14 camp languages like Portuguese, Estonian, Arabic, Bahasa and Norwegian.

Right after coming home to the campsite we used the time till formal night and dressed up.

When the formal night finally started we entered a whole rearranged dining room. We enjoyed the nice food of our amazing cook and some of the leaders were serving us. That was awesome. After we enjoyed the last spoon of ice cream we entered the casino and dancing area and enjoyed ourselves. There was a fortune teller, a crazy flying pig race and a “forever friendship” photo booth. Also the Wonderland Kings and Queens were elected within the kids group and for the adult group.

It was really nice. After Larissa blew the birthday cake candle and everybody had a piece of the delicious cake we went to bed – tired but happy!

Love and hugs from Germany!
