After we arrived at the camp we all worked together in preparing for the kids arrival from the host families. We also had another big BBQ planned for the kids and all the host families which was also another very successful BBQ.

We spent the rest of the evening enjoying the food and hearing all the wonderful stories of how the kids spent their time with the host families.

In the end of the night we went for lullabies and just eased into the camp routine, we all had a great weekend and were fresh and excited about the next 2 weeks of camp.

All the kids have been picked up by their host families and were very excited about spending the weekend with their friends exploring all that Trondheim has to offer and getting a nice break from the camp routine. Meanwhile, we the leaders, JCs and Staff have been invited to a beautiful home in the countryside to spend the weekend and have our much needed rest. After arriving at the beautiful home situated in the middle of some of the most relaxing natural scenery, the leaders spent the first night relaxing and catching up on a lot of sleep. The Saturday morning was perfect, all the leaders, staff and JCs have had a good night sleep and we all felt refreshed and relaxed and intended on spending the entire day the same way just relaxing. Some people watched some movies, others spent their time in the kitchen cooking fresh blueberry jam and some spent their day jumping continuously on the trampoline that was there in the family’s home.

On the other hand, some people had the energy to take a nice walk in the green fields and enjoy a quick swim in the fjord. After we all had our time to take a deep breath and enjoy the beautiful day we had, it was time to prepare for dinner. Some of us had met some friendly neighbors on the walk in the country side and we invited them to join us for dinner. We were having a yummy BBQ planned and every one of us assumed a role in getting everything ready, we were creative in the kitchen and came up with a meal that was above all expectations.

After the amazing BBQ all of us gathered to sing Jan Erik (JC) the happy birthday song, we prepared some brownies and enjoyed some time celebrating his day.

After that we went back to relaxing and just sat and enjoyed a nice movie together, through which one by one started getting sleepy and headed back to bed. On the Sunday morning all of us slept in for a while, we had a nice breakfast and started packing to head back to the camp site and meet the kids.
Kisses & hugs to everyone from the leaders of Wonderland

Delegation of the Day: staff
This was the day of Open Day. We prepared for the evening – practicing our performance and preparing the stands. The weather was not on our side and we had to move the whole presenting of our camp indoors. So our activity room turned into EXPO-hall where each delegation had a stand to introduce their country and culture.

We also performed “Leaving on a jetplane” all together. And introduced our amazing delegations to the visitors.

Once the official part was over, the host families took the kids for the second familyweekend. The leaders stayed behind to clean up and have mid-camp evaluation. And then it was time for leaders weekend…

Delegation of the Day: Egypt
First we woke up half an hour earlier to wake everybody else up. Then we came down to order the placemats for breakfast, it was really nice because we could choose who sits where and which table can go first. After that we were in the middle of the circle for flag time and said good morning to everyone. After our daily routine of breakfast and cleaning groups, we then began activity 1 which was awesome – we played capture the flag and we had face paint to separate the two teams. It was so much fun! Then, after lunch we had activity 2 which was even more fun, it was a sunny day and we played outside. We started with waterballoon rugby and it was soo funny because the balloons kept bursting in our hands. After this activity we just dried off. We couldn’t take showers today because something wasn’t working in the showers. But it didn’t matter we had fun relaxing and playing with our friends. After dinner we had the Philippines national night which was amazing, they showed us all two dances. One was with candles (Pandangoo) and the other with bamboo sticks (Tinikling).

Both were so impressive and we also had a chance to try out the tinikling. They served us chicken with rice and we then had dried mangos which were delicious. After the amazing night we went outside and did flagtime in 10 degree weather, it was freezing !

We then hurried to lullabies where we sang songs. Today’s choice was: I’ll be , I’m yours, Leaving on a jet plane, Time of your life and Imagine). Lullabies are the best ! It really was a great day where we felt like we were in charge of the camp for a day.
Much Love from,

Delegation of the Day: Denmark

Today it was the danish delegation the delegation of the day. We played Capture the Flag outside. It was a different kind of Caputre the Flag, so we never got a winner.
Afterwards we played “Submarine” where we had to throw waterballoons at each other. It was so much fun! At lunch we got lasagne and luckily it was the danish delegations favorite food. After lunch we had a fashion show. We were divided in two groups and the first group had the theme environment, and the last had diversity. Michael (Norway) was dressed as a woman, which was pretty funny.

For the last activity period we had a visitor from CISV Norway. We drew a comics strip on “conflict and resolution”. It was quite difficult task. For the lullabies we got to pick the songs and then it was time to go to bed.
Good night!

Delegation of the Day: staff
Today was another day of excursion. The bus came to pick us up from Gråkallen (that is our camp site) at 10.00 and drove us downtown to a waterpark. It is called Pirbadet – Norway’s largest indoor water park. We did the swimming pool energizer while waiting in line to get in.

There were different slides and pools, jacuzzies and saunas. We had a lot of fun and everybody who wanted could jump into pool from diving tower. The hight of the platforms was from 1m springboards up to 10m diving tower. Almost everyone tried out the 1m and 3m jump, some also went to the 5m and 7,5m towers. And the bravest ones took a dive from the 10m tower.

The slides had a screen at the end that showed your speed during the slide. So we had a bit of a competition going on. Unfortunatelly just when we had set the speed record the system restarted and our fastest time with that. Oh, well – there is always next time!
Before leaving the pool we did energisers – the swimming pool and a water-pony song. Some of the local kids also joined in.

We got back to campsite by the delegation time and dinner. After dinner we had the activity. Played different cames and had a football match called Wondercup where the delegations were living goal posts and goalies at the same time. If the attacking delegation scored they had to change places with the “goal”. So we kind of kept the ball rolling and always had new teams defending and attacking. This created a lot of confusion but was fun at the same time :p

Delegation of the Day: Germany
The day started with waking up the other kids and leaders with a typical German tool – a whistle. The Germans are very keen on sports especially on soccer (Fußball in German). So we brought some football whistles with us and we went from room to room and made a lot of noise. Even though it was an annoying thing to do, you get a lot of attention and reactions.
Beside the fact that two kids of our delegation- Linus and Stine – were sick and had to stay in bed, being delegation of the day was fun for us and we already want to be delegation of the day later on during the camp.

Today it was the national night of Indonesia and USA. We saw some indonesian dances and had a glow-stick party with the States.

We also had fun during lunch time, asking funny questions about ourselves to choose the tables that get food first or choosing the songs for our lullabies. Even though “Hakuna Matata” and “All my loving” from the Beatles were not among the most beautiful performed songs during the camp, it´s so much fun to sit together every night and just enjoy singing together, wishing each other good night and chat about the fun things that will come up later like the wonderful excursion to the pool in Trondheim.
Lots of hugs from German delegation

Delegation of the Day: Finland
The Finnish delegation woke everybody up by playing music, the weather was a bit rainy and we had 16 degrees outside. We had to put the placemats on tables for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On breakfast we ate once again bread with cheese, ham and jam. In activities 1 & 2 we played Mickey Mouse, the Balloon game and Catch The Dragons Tail. The activities were fun, especially Mickey Mouse. After every meal we had to wash the dishes with a big washing machine and we didn’t have to participate in cleaning groups. On snack we had baby carrots for the first time and they were so yummy we ate a lot! In the evening we had an Arabian Night with Jordanian, Egyptian and Lebanese national nights.

They all had a lot of good food and snacks and beautiful national dances. After Arabian Night we had flag time, we brushed our teeth and went to lullabies. We sang Three little birds, I’m yours, Hotel California, Let it be and Hallelujah. After singing we went to sleep. This was a nice day!

Delegation of the Day: Austria
Today we were allowed to sleep longer. However, we got up at 9 o’clock to eat breakfast, because we couldn’t sleep any more
We played a really cool game called Stratego, were you have to find the flag of the other team.

We also started the Monito game or secret friend that it also is called. Here we had to make some envelopes and decorate them, so that our secret friend could post letters in it. This game will last from now till the end of the week.
All of us are having a really good time! Tonight we also had Scandinavian national night (Norway, Finland and Denmark).

Love from the Austrian delegation
