Hi,
I’m Mike, your new EVS volunteer for 2011/2012! I’m sure we will get to know each other very well over my year in Oslo, but here is a brief introduction.I am from Manchester (but please don’t talk to me about football) but right now I am studying in Durham – a tiny picturesque town in the north of England. I am crazy about music; listening and playing, although I still have no idea how I am going to get all my instruments to Norway. I have to admit that languages are not my speciality but I can’t wait to learn Norwegian, at least it will be funny for you guys. I have been in CISV for around 11 years and have taken part in almost every programme – yes I am a CISV geek. During my time in Norway I hope to share my inspirations with others and find new ones. I aim to help build a more inclusive and diverse CISV community, to strengthen the local impact of CISV through sustainable projects and find creative solutions to complex problems we face in everyday life. Most of all, I want to spread the attitude of this quote from Mahatma Gandhi; “The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.”
See you all soon!
Mike
